Why the Campus Matters
Chicago's veteran services are spread across dozens of organizations and neighborhoods, and more than one in four veterans continues serving through volunteering. The Campus is the Foundation's answer: one location where recreation, family programming, service, and community sit under one roof.

The Vision
One building. Two purposes.
Open to everyone. Home to those who served.
The Esprit de Corps Campus sits at the center of everything the Foundation is building — a permanent physical home for the veteran community in Chicago.
A full fitness and recreation center, open to the entire community. Group training, outdoor activation, leadership events, and programming that runs every day. Family space for military spouses and kids. Meeting rooms for veteran nonprofits and service organizations. A place that’s always alive, always welcoming, always worth showing up to.

“Esprit was never meant to be an event calendar. It was meant to be a home— a place every service member, veteran, and military family can walk into and know they belong. Community that isn’t scheduled once a year, but lived every week.”
Where We Are
Honest about the timeline.
Right now, the Campus exists as a vision. There is no building yet, no floor plan, no capital campaign. What there is: clarity about what it needs to be, a growing community that proves the demand for it, and a founding team committed to making it real.
Every event we host is evidence. Every veteran and family who shows up is proof. Every partner who aligns with this mission is a building block. We’re not waiting until we have all the answers to start talking about it.

Each one carrying the same culture, the same energy, and the same sense of belonging that service gave people and civilian life too often takes away.
